About me and my practice

My name is Alice and I work as an integrative counsellor. That means I combine several therapeutic approaches rather than one model, enabling me to offer counselling best suited to you and every person I talk to.
From my own experience, therapy has helped me tremendously through my own hardships in life, in times of anxiety, depression and especially through difficulties in the relationships with my closest ones.
It can be overwhelming to not be living a life that seems truly yours, emotionally resulting in anxiety, depression and/or other difficult emotions.
Exploring how we truly feel and think about our experiences can provide us with great insight towards ourselves, our behaviours, and our responses to the unpredictable nature of life and our relationship with ourselves and others.
Counselling sessions with me can help you with some of the following (although there is so much more):

Greater sense of self-worth and self-awareness
Increased confidence and self-esteem
Feeling calmer and more relaxed
Better communication skills
More intimate and satisfying relationships
Develop healthier patterns of relating to others

My style is personal - every session is about you. Whatever you want to bring to the session and whatever pace you want to go, I will honour that, although if I feel you are ready, I can help you with a supportive challenge as well.

I'll work with you to develop self-awareness and understanding of your behaviours, that might have the same patterns, and help you to find the way out by exploring where some of these issues might stem from, as I believe these are important factors when we want to make positive changes in our lives.

As we all are different, every session is tailored to the needs of individual clients. Approach can be changed as we move on in our sessions and maybe get into a different issue to explore. Whatever the issues might be, I am confident the therapy can help anyone to live richer, fuller and more satisfying life

Experience

I studied and had placements in London (The Awareness centre plus schools placements), now I live in Leigh-on-Sea.

As I hold my sessions almost solely online, the location doesn't matter. Online therapy is convenient and flexible, meaning people dont have to travel anywhere to get the support they need, and its saving time, money and energy. It is also helpful if someones mental health, mobility or other issues make it difficult to leave the house, or if they live in a remote area.

I support people with a wide range of concerns and of all ages, from diverse backgrounds. I provide culturally sensitive counselling as I have experienced myself how important it is not to judge and understand equality in our diverse society.

I also have experience working with the creative and performing arts community as well as people in senior leadership roles.

Areas of counselling the adults I am particularly experienced in:
Anxiety and Stress (work related or other)
Depression and Feeling sad & low
Neurodivergence and ADHD
Unresolved trauma
Anger management
Self-esteem
Addiction / Eating disorders
Panic attacks and OCD
Bereavement & loss
Redundancy, Career and life choices

In creating a safe and supportive space for people I talk to we explore their emotions and find solutions. I help people to discover their strengths and resources and develop new tools, skills and strategies to cope with their difficulties.

What people said testimonials:
I am very grateful to Alice for her compassion and expertise. She helped me get in touch with difficult feelings and find a way to manage them when I was going through a period of acute personal and professional stress. I would recommend her to anyone who needs an experienced, thoughtful professional to help them through a difficult time.
